In addition to his current role as CEO Middle East & Africa, Deutsche Bank today announced the appointment of Jamal Al Kishi as Chief Country Officer (CCO) for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and General Manager of Deutsche Bank AG Dubai (DIFC) Branch subject to regulatory approval. Al Kishi takes over from Rafik Nayed who has left Deutsche Bank to pursue other professional opportunities in the MENA region. He will continue to report to Ashok Aram, CEO Europe Middle East & Africa (excluding Germany and the UK).

Commenting on the appointment, Aram said: “Deutsche Bank is deeply committed to the UAE and the appointment of an individual with Jamal’s reputation and experience reflects the importance of the UAE in the context of our regional business plan. We remain fully focused on the execution of our global strategy here, where we continue to see potential for significant growth ahead.”

Al Kishi joined Deutsche Bank in 2007 as CEO of Deutsche Securities Saudi Arabia and head of corporate and investment banking, before relocating to Dubai in February 2016 as Deutsche Bank’s MEA CEO. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Al Kishi spent over 12 years in corporate and investment banking in Saudi Arabia. He was a senior executive at Arab National Bank for 10 years and prior to that he worked in corporate banking with Saudi American Bank in Riyadh.

Al Kishi has a Masters in Business Administration, Banking and Finance from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia and a Degree in Engineering from Arizona State University in the United States.

Aram also thanked Rafik Nayed: "Rafik has been a valuable contributor to Deutsche Bank's successful MENA franchise and has ably led our efforts to strengthen governance and processes in our DIFC branch. We wish Rafik success with his future.”
