UAE-based Danube Properties has entered into an alliance with Johnson Controls, a global leader in energy efficiency, smart and sustainable building technologies, as part of its mission and in line with the UAE government’s vision to deliver green, smart and sustainable development projects.

The alliance ensures all Danube Properties projects become energy-efficient, green, smart and sustainable properties with the latest innovative technology products are built-in to offer greater user comfort that also reduces the energy usage and bills, said a statement from Danube.

The buildings and building construction sectors combined are responsible for 36 per cent of global final energy consumption and nearly 40 per cent of total direct and indirect carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, stated the company, citing the data from International Energy Agency (IEA).

A collaborative strategy towards promoting a comprehensive offering were discussed by Atif Rahman, the director and partner of Danube Properties, Claude Allain, vice-president and general manager for Johnson Controls, Middle East and Africa, and Dr Marcus Schumacher, vice president and general manager for Johnson Controls – GCC, along with the Johnson Controls Key Strategic Account Management team.

"Smart, green and sustainable development is part of our DNA and Danube Properties has been championing the development of affordable homes – to make homes economically sustainable – for end-users," remarked Rahman, after signing the deal with Allain.

"Despite the fact that our homes are affordable in price, we have never compromised on the quality and facilities – we are known to over-deliver," he stated.

"However, we have gone a step ahead in that direction – by initiating smart and sustainable home technologies – to offer a greater value proposition to our customers by making their homes more energy efficient and smart, with the same price," noted Rahman.

"Danube Properties is one of those few rare realty brands, which have been able to make a mark and set themselves a league apart nationally and globally, despite challenging economic condition, through their strong commitment and strong quality," he stated.

On the alliance, Allain said: "We are proud of this partnership and to be associated with one of the fastest developers of the region and share the same vision of driving sustainable solutions."

Johnson Controls is a global diversified technology and multi-industrial leader serving a wide range of customers in more than 150 countries.

"Our commitment to sustainability dates back to our roots in 1885, with the invention of the first electric room thermostat. We are committed to helping our customers win and creating greater value for all of our stakeholders through strategic focus on our buildings and energy growth platforms," he noted.

"Energy emerges as a critical economic driver due to high demand vs. unsustainable supplies and hence energy-efficient buildings are a necessity each day for a sustainable world," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
