Aldar Properties, a leading UAE-based real estate developer, said it has started the handover of two of its premium developments in Abu Dhabi - Nareel Island and Al Merief.

Nareel Island is a premium high-end plot development located on the coast of Al Bateen, complemented by first-class amenities and private beaches, while Al Merief is a residential community specifically designed for UAE nationals in Khalifa City.

Aldar said construction also continues to make strong progress across all its remaining developments. On Yas Island, at West Yas, the work is entering its final stages, with testing and commissioning work ongoing, in preparation for handover to customers.

Last week, Aldar had awarded a Dh1.3 billion ($533 millon) main contractor package for Water’s Edge, which comprises 2,255 residential units, with lifestyle and recreation facilities, restaurants and cafes, retail space and a waterfront promenade on Yas Island’s eastern shores.

At Mayan, its luxury golf and waterfront apartment development, Aldar said the substructure work had already been completed and work on the superstructure was well underway.

Similarly, at Yas Acres, building activity continues across all 652 villas and townhouses that have been launched to date, it stated.

On Reem Island, the Emirati developer said the enabling work was making good progress at The Bridges, a six-tower development featuring 1,272 apartments launched last year. Main works are expected to commence imminently, it stated.

Aldar said Meera is now almost fully enclosed and HVAC fixing is now complete across both towers.

In Al Ain, expansion and renovation work at Al Jimi Mall, Aldar’s flagship asset in Al Ain, is entering final stages. It is due to complete end of this year and set to add 33,000 sqm of retail, leisure and F&B (food and beverages) space, bringing total GLA (gross land area) to 76,000 sq m.-TradeArabia News Service
