The former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria and the current Emir of Kano, Nigeria, will be the guest of honour at the Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA) 2015 on Monday, 28th September 2015 at Gulf Convention Centre. HRH will also deliver a keynote speech at the gala dinner. "Keynote speeches at GIFA Ceremonies highlight ethical issues in Islamic banking and finance, and this year's speech by Emir Sanusi will be a highlight of GIFA 2015," said the Founder of GIFA, Professor Humayon Dar.

Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II commented, "In just 5 years, GIFA has emerged as the most sought after Islamic finance awards in the global Islamic financial services industry, with its awards ceremonies attended by the royals, prime ministers, presidents, ministers, central bank governors and CEOs of Islamic financial institutions from around the world."

HRH will also receive the "Global Islamic Finance Leadership Award" for playing an instrumental role in the development of Islamic banking sector in the African region. After four successful awards ceremonies in Muscat, Kuala Lumpur and Dubai, GIFA are being organised for the first time in Bahrain where more than 30 institutions drawn from the global Islamic financial services will receive awards in over 40 fiercely fought categories.

National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) - the Central Bank - is the co-organiser of this year's awards ceremony while Edbiz Consulting continues to manage the awards on behalf of Islamic Bankers Association (the official organiser of the event). In addition, three Ambassadors including UK, Malaysia and Pakistan have confirmed their attendance at the gala dinner.

"We are looking forward to welcoming global audience to the GIFA Awards Ceremony in Bahrain on Monday, 28th September with the hope that institutions will be able to meet other stakeholders in the industry, which will lead to business opportunities and cross border transactions for them and Bahrain - one of the reason of organising the event in the country," said Rizwan Malik, the convenor of GIFA awards and the head of Business Development & Strategy at Edbiz Consulting.
