Ajman, UAE: Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) is organising the Route 44 Car Show for classic and modified cars, which will provide an overview of the history of the car industry and showcase different car designs and modifications. The Car Show will be held on Friday 21st February at Al Zorah, one of the most important tourist and leisure destinations in Ajman.

With the participation of more than 500 cars and 300 motorcycles from across the UAE, the Route 44 Car Show will give amateur and professional car enthusiasts an opportunity to get acquainted and take photos with a rare collection of cars and motorbikes and learn about the history and development of leading international auto companies.

HE Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, ATDD Director General, “The Car Show will give visitors the chance to view a large number of well-maintained vintage cars that will bring to mind different time periods in the UAE’s history. This is a popular hobby for many Emiratis who see classic and vintage cars as a reminder of the good old days, and the Car Show has become an annual event on ATDD’s calendar.”

His Excellency added that the Car Show, which is being held for the second year in a row, will attract classic and modified car enthusiasts from across the UAE and the region. Cars will be judged based on official criteria including the car’s appearance and age, and the extent to which the owner has maintained and cared for the car.

The organising committee was keen to provide everything needed to ensure the event’s success. The programme will include a variety of activities for visitors of all ages and nationalities such as remote controlled cars, which are especially popular among young people.

Another important activity that will be held on the sidelines of the Car Show is a competition for the best coffee. Three competitors will compete in three stages to prepare coffee within eight minutes. Three judges will evaluate the competitors based on the taste of coffee and the way that it is served.

In the past, the Car Show has been a huge success, attracting significant numbers of participants and visitors. Emirati families and UAE residents flocked to view the extraordinary collection that included cars from the 1950s.
