ANKARA - An artillery shell from Syria hit Turkey's southeastern province of Hatay on Thursday and Turkish border troops retaliated in kind, broadcaster CNN Turk said.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or injuries, after the shell hit a rural area in the Yayladagi district of Hatay, CNN Turk said, adding that the shell came from an area of Syria controlled by the Syrian government.
