On his appointment, Barge said “Six Senses brand expresses wellness definition the way it should be, a complete body and soul experience, something I have believed in and exercised throughout my career, which is why it has been a privilege to join Six Senses Zighy Bay, where I can pour my expertise into enhancing the existing programs while I take from Six Senses deep heritage fulfilling Six Senses Wellness mission and growing the team”.

Barge started his career as a personal fitness trainer after graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, he moved later to become a Spa Manager at Bailiffscourt Health Spa, West Sussex, UK, in charge of driving sales and memberships, where he developed his passion for wellness as a wide concept. Taking his career to the next level, Barge chose Temple Spa @ Palmerston hotels, Sicily, Italy where he worked as the Spa Operations Manager, involved in the spa architecture and experience design, and developing the standard operating procedures for all spa and membership operations used currently in their spas around the world.

Barge’s business-oriented mindset led him later on to take the position of Memberships Manager at David Lloyd Leisure, and Golf Membership Sales Manager at The Tytherington Golf Club, Cheshire, both in the UK. It was then that he joined Huvafen Fushi Resort & Spa, Maldives as Director of Spa, where he introduced a tailor-made wellness program incorporating fitness, nutrition and treatments, winning him the Condé Nast Traveler Award for Best Spa in 2013.

With a rich background and a long-life passion for wellness, business and people management, Barge will continue to design and implement new wellness programs and concepts under the guidelines of the Six Senses Zighy Bay philosophy.
