Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi based Etihad Aviation Group announced a strategic 15-year collaboration with Moog Inc. at the Bahrain International Airshow.

The partnership will provide Etihad Airways with global access to the Moog Inc. component pool as well as complete repair support from Moog Inc. on a range of part numbers fitted to the airline’s fleet.

Moog Inc. will support Etihad Airways Engineering, a division of the Etihad Aviation Group and the largest commercial MRO service provider in the Middle East. The support will expand the company’s component capability onsite to become a centre of excellence for component repair and overhaul. This strategic move is the first step in the company’s ambition to grow in-house component capabilities.

Announcing the strategic agreement in Bahrain, Etihad Aviation Group Chief Executive Officer Tony Douglas said: “We are proud to collaborate directly with Moog Inc. who are well-respected worldwide as a leading OEM. In a rapidly expanding market, this strategic partnership offers total support on components installed on the Etihad Airways fleet, as well as developing Etihad Airways Engineering as a centre of excellence.

Moog Inc. Aircraft Commercial Global Support General Manager Mark Brooks said: “We are pleased to have signed a long-term partnership agreement with Etihad Airways and Etihad Airways Engineering and we look forward to building a long-lasting relationship with both organisations”.
