Recognising DIB’s continued efforts in nurturing the young Emirati population and yielding strong Emiratisation results, DIB received the prestigious Human Resources Development Award 2018 in category A – the highest category of award presented to any organisation with over 1000 employees. His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, honored DIB for supporting Emiratisation in the banking sector and presented the award to Obaid Al Shamsi, Chief of Human Resources and Administration at Dubai Islamic Bank. The awards are aimed towards promoting and acknowledging progress made by the organization in the area of Emiratization and have been particularly successful since its inception in 1999. They hold a special place in supporting human resource development and Emiratization policies.

As part of DIB’s Emiratization development program, several HR initiatives such as the Masaar Program, Taalam Program, Emarati Program and High Potential Employee Program were launched in order to welcome talented employees with tailored training programs, which will foster their professional development and help them strengthen their skills. DIB also provides its employees with access to leadership programs, executive coaching, mentorship, experience on key strategic projects, as well as opportunities to receive meaningful advice and guidance from senior management.

Commenting on the bank’s participation at the 21st National Career Exhibition, Obaid Al Shamsi, Chief of Human Resources and Administration at Dubai Islamic Bank said, “As the first Islamic bank in the UAE, we have a longstanding heritage of supporting the development of the local community. At DIB, we strongly believe in the government’s Emiratization initiative, and we strive to continue contributing to the local talents’ professional development. The Human Resources Development Award 2018 is a testament to this commitment.”

“Once again, DIB is exhibiting at the National Career Exhibition, and we trust this creates a great opportunity for us to recruit the right talent for our growing DIB team. We look forward to meeting ambitious Emiratis at the exhibition to further educate them on DIB’s initiatives as a leader in the Islamic Finance industry, and offer them with opportunities to fulfill their professional potential.”

Supported by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Emirates Institute for Banking & Financial Studies, the National Career Exhibition is running over the course of 3 days at the Expo Centre in Sharjah, UAE. The exhibition brings together institutions from the public and private sectors and UAE nationals to introduce them to exciting and challenging job opportunities. The event is an essential part of the government’s agenda to increase the number of UAE citizens employed in the private sector by 2021.

“In 2018, our Emiratisation ratio reached over 44.8%, ranging from managerial to leadership roles, and the bank has successfully achieved the Emiratisation scores as per the UAE Central Bank requirements. We aim to foster our growth this year at the National Career Exhibition through recruiting ambitious and talented individuals and help them grow within our bank. 2018 was a year of numerous achievements for DIB, with successful results in expanding our bank around the globe, along with being recognized in the Islamic Finance industry with prestigious awards, and we truly believe Emiratisation has had a significant impact on our bank’s success, as well as on the nation’s social and economic development,” added Mr. Al Shamsi.

DIB strives to be a strong pillar in propelling nationalization across the UAE, and holds this at the heart of the bank’s mission to contribute to the local economy. For more than forty years, Emiratisation has been a key element of the bank’s philosophy, and we aim to develop competent industry leaders and help them thrive within our bank.
