Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has announced plans to launch direct flights to Athens, Greece, starting in June.

The carrier will operate four flights a week, on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, from June 5, it said in a statement.

Saudia's director general Saleh Bin Nasser Al-Jasser said that the launch of flights to Athens is part of the national carrier's expansion of operations in the international sector, which in 2018 achieved a significant leap of 11 per cent over the previous year.
