ABU DHABI- The Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy signed a strategic partnership agreement with M.I.C.E. Global Singapore to augment the academy’s current programme.

The agreement with M.I.C.E. Global Singapore, a specialist in professional marine training is part of the academy’s commitment to providing world-class training and education in the maritime sector, not only for the UAE but also for the wider Arabian Gulf region. Specifically, the agreement will see M.I.C.E. Global Singapore, as a strategic partner, provide its expertise to the students of the academy in competencies such as marine pilotage, management and marine masterclasses and project risk analysis. The courses will be added to the list of the academy’s offerings of locally and internationally accredited ones by leading establishments including the UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency, the UAE Federal Transport Authority, the International Association Lighthouse Authorities, and Lloyd’s Register.

Captain Maktoum Al Houqani, Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy and Chief of Abu Dhabi Ports’ Corporate Authority, said, "In line with our vision to become the region’s hub for maritime training and learning, M.I.C.E. Global meets our standards and desire to be able to offer more than just seafarer training." He added, "In line with the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030, the Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy’s expansion of courses affirms our commitment to empower the youth to develop and support a sustainable, diversified and knowledge-based economy." Eileen Yeo, Managing Director of M.I.C.E Global, said, "We are thrilled and delighted to be collaborating with the Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy.

This strategic alliance allows us to expand our reach and benefit the Middle Eastern Maritime community." Initially offering more than 20 courses, the academy expects to actively pursue strategic relationships with key global partners in order to expand and diversify its programme, and grow its position as a regional and international centre of excellence.
