8 national pavilions to take part at the three day show

The Dubai WoodShow 2016, the regional leading platform for wood and woodworking machinery, is kicking off tomorrow (Monday, 4 April 2016) and will continue until (Wednesday 6 April 2016) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Dawood Al Shezawi, CEO, Strategic Marketing & Exhibitions, organisers of the show expected that the show will attract more than 10 thousand visitors to look at the development of the wood products as well as machineries.

He added that the show will shed light throughout three days on the latest technical developments and sustainability practices in the timber industry in the sectors of construction and design.

Dubai WoodShow 2016 attracts producers, processors, importers, exporters, dealers, suppliers working across different specializations of the timber industry. It also attracts companies looking to build strategic partnerships and develop new business opportunities from the Middle East region.

Partners of Dubai WoodShow 2016 include, ACIMALL, Italian Woodworking machinery and tools manufactures' association; AFEMMA, private organization whose purpose is to promote the development of Spain's timber and wood sector; AIMSAD, the woodworking machinery and side industries businessmen association; American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC); Eumabois, European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers; French Timber, an association founded in 2001 by the National Timber Federation (Fédération Nationale du Bois). Moreover, partners of the show comprise  Malaysian Timber Council, The Malaysian Timber Council (MTC); Lunjiao, first professional online B2B platform for woodworking machinery in China; Quebec Wood Export Bureau, a non-profit organisation showcasing wood products from Quebec in export markets; and Swedish Wood.

"The show has reaffirmed its leading position in the timber and machinery industries for more than a decade. We have diversified number of participants as more than 250 companies is participating at the show from more than 40 countries including 8 national pavilions," added Al Shezawi.

"New products and solutions will make debut at the show as well as we will highlight new technologies offered by leading companies and international institutions," added Al Shezawi.

The timber industry plays a pivotal part in many vital industries in the region, most notably the construction and furniture industries which are the two major spenders of wood. (70% for the construction sector and 30% for the furniture one).

The visitors of the show in recent years split between 60% from the UAE, 15% of other Gulf States, 9% from Asia, 6% from Europe, 6% of the rest of the Middle East, 2% from Africa, and 2% from the United States of America.

The 2016 edition of Dubai WoodShow 2016 will continue providing a perfect platform for suppliers, manufacturers & machinery companies to showcase their products, innovative technologies, production scenarios and large scale machinery to key players in the wood & woodworking machinery industry in the Middle East and North Africa region.
