Dubai - Dr. Abdul Wahab Al Fouzan, Secretary General of the Pan Arab League of Dermatology provided a token of appreciation to Dubai Derma's Patron, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, and it was received on his behalf by H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water in the UAE in recognition for his highnesses patronage and continuous support to the Dubai World Dermatology & Laser Conference & Exhibition, and his role in supporting education, health, and scientific research.

On this occasion, Dr. Abdul Wahab Al Fouzan, Secretary General of the Pan Arab League of Dermatology said: "On behalf of the scientific committee, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, President of the Dubai Health Authority, for his continuous support and invaluable patronage of this event since its inception. I also thank His Highness for his endless efforts and contributions put forward to improve both medical and healthcare services. The evident attention of senior Dubai officials in the health sector, and the organizing of periodic conferences and seminars, are making Dubai stand out as a global scientific edifice. The biggest proof of that is the successful organization of conferences and exhibitions, such as Dubai Derma which became a global focal point where the most prominent doctors and distinguished specialists in the field of skin care and laser meet to discuss and share their knowledge and expertise."

Dr. Abdul Wahab Al Fouzan went on saying: "Looking at the scientific program of the Dubai Derma conference, one would find a lot of scientific papers and medical researches, all addressing the new discoveries in the field of laser treatment, especially skin surgery and the treatment of psoriasis and cancerous tumors, in addition to the treatment of hair loss, alopecia, skin and genetic diseases. The scientific activities of the conference also include a large number of workshops for laser applications and new ideas on how to deal with the skin changes that occur as a result of aging."

The 15th edition of Dubai DermaConference and Exhibition continued its second day with the participation of local and international exhibiting companies that are displaying their latest equipment and products used in dermatology, plastic surgeries and laser treatments. Dubai Derma, a pioneer event in the Gulf and Middle East, has witnessed a remarkable participation of high-level speakers, specialists and doctors that came together to discuss the latest breakthroughs in technologies and scientific research in the field of dermatology. Dubai Dermais held at the Dubai International Convention Centre and under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority.

Dubai Derma specialized sessions and workshops alsocontinued for the second day with a great number of participation. The scientific program on the second day touched upon different topics including: Complications Associated with Dermal Fillers, Stem Cells and Alopecia, Update on Phototherapy, Psoriasis Treatment and many more.

Dr. Hassan Galadari, Head of Scientific Committee of Dubai Derma Conference & Exhibition commented on the program this year by saying: "The beauty of the program is that the scientific committee takes into account what our reviewers and those who evaluate us seriously. This year, we have put together a pre-conference cosmetic course instead of the capped workshops we had in the previous year. We wanted to bring in as many professionals as possible from different parts of the world to discuss that specific growing field. In addition, we see that dermatopathology sessions have also made a strong presence in the main program too."

"In addition to that, lasers have always been the "in" thing. Those machines get updated more than your iPhone and it is important to realize what is out there and what actually works. There is a whole session on the lasers, their recent advances and their limitations given both to the pre conference course and main program." Added Dr. Galadari

The 2nd day has also witnessed a Case Report Presentation & Competition, in which dermatologists and participating doctors from several hospitals presented their different case reports to get a chance of receiving an award of appreciation and cash prizes. This activity aims in encouraging more dermatology researches amongst the new generation of dermatologists.

On the exhibition side, Dubai Derma has witnessed this year the participation of more than 375 local and international companies covering an overall space of 8000 square meter with a 25 % increase in size from the past year. This year, Dubai Derma has seen significant presence by Asian countries especially South Korea where 54 participating Korean Companies had showed like every year their keen interest in introducing their products to the Middle East market.

Dubai Derma 2015 will continue until 9th of April, and it is held in cooperation with the International Academy of Medical Specialisation, GCC League of Dermatology and the Pan Arab League of Dermatology, and supported by the Dubai Health Authority. The event is organized annually by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions - member of INDEX Holding.
