'Dubai Government Unified Platform' attracts Emirati women seeking promising professional prospects

More than 1,717 applicants & more than 4,000 applications during the first day

UAE, April 29, 2015

The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) received a wide interest from visitors on the second day of Careers UAE 2015, the leading recruitment, education, and training event for UAE nationals. A large number of male and female Emirati fresh graduates and professionals attended the second day to take advantage of job opportunities in the public and private sectors and make valuable contributions to the government's comprehensive national development agenda.

Numerous Emirati women of different backgrounds visited the career fair to submit their resumes to their target employers. Decision makers and other participants flocked the platform to check more than 1,500 career opportunities in the public sector. The government agencies joined the event in support of the Emiratisation policy as a strategic priority of UAE Vision 2021.

Amal Mohammed bin Udai, Director General, DGHR, said: "The second day was very fruitful, with a noticeable increase in the number of applicants. Yesterday, we received more than 1,717 applicants and more than 4,000 applications during the first day. Several professionals looking to explore new prospects also submitted their credentials to us in their bid to take part in Dubai's development and growth through the application of their practical experience and knowledge."

Bin Udai added: "The current edition of Careers UAE 2015 attracted a huge number of UAE professionals who aspire to get involved in the government and help accelerate Dubai's development through promoting a culture of innovation, creativity and excellence. In this light, we are fully committed to providing our citizens with significant opportunities in line with the government's Emiratisation program."

DGHR and Dubai Sports Council signed an agreement for the design and implementation of training courses at the Dubai Institute for Human Resources Development. The Department of Finance, for its part, provided an introductory seminar on 'Maliyoun' program, while the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority hosted musical and heritage events, including 'The Painter and 'The Calligrapher.' The Knowledge and Human Development Authority organized several interactive workshops as well titled 'Your Way to Recruit the Appropriate Person,' 'Happiness in the Concept of the Authority of Knowledge,' 'In Search of Talent,' and 'National Competencies Development and the Private Sector.' Day two also featured awareness and educational activities, including lectures on choking, reverse swallow, burns, and drowning organized by Dubai Corporation and Ambulance Services lectures. Dubai Sports Council, meanwhile, held a question-and-answer competition to engage the visitors. Winners received national team shirts signed by a celebrity player.

Careers UAE 2015 is an interactive event that provides an ideal opportunity for employers and Emirati jobseekers to directly interact with each other. This year's edition complements the 2014 event in which H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, simultaneously launched the 'National Agenda,' which aims to increase Emiratisation in the private sector by tenfold as a top government priority.
