MANAMA: Deals worth more than $14 million were signed during Expo 2020 Dubai last year, Export Bahrain announced yesterday.

These included agreements with Bahrain-based Arihant and Wesal Jewellers, which are subsidiaries of the Arihant Group, and regional and international buyers in the gold sector.

It will help the group export jewellery and precious metals to new clients in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.

As part of the support provided to Arihant Jewellers, Export Bahrain organised a workshop focused on the precious metals and gold sector, to discuss trade opportunities and exchange expertise with local, regional, and international stakeholders.

“Export Bahrain has always been keen to capitalise on opportunities such as Expo 2020 Dubai, with the aim of paving the way for its clients, especially small and medium enterprises in Bahrain, to reach broader horizons of growth,” said Export Bahrain Business Development manager Fatima Mahdi.

Arihant Group’s Public Relations and Communications head Maryam Hasan said the support provided by Export Bahrain will help it achieve more growth in regional and international markets.

“As a Bahrain-based company, we are happy to receive Export Bahrain’s backing to close export deals worth over $14m last year at the expo with new clients in the region and there is more to come this year,” said Ms Hasan.
