Dubai - Emirates Islamic, one of the leading Islamic financial institutions in the UAE, contributed AED 300,000 to the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD), towards the support of needy and disadvantaged members of the community. The contribution is in line with the Year of Giving and Emirates Islamic’s continuing commitment to humanitarian initiatives in the UAE.

On behalf of HE Dr. Hamad Bin Al Sheikh Ahmed Al Shaibani, Director General of the IACAD, Ahmad Darwish Al Muhairi, Executive Director for the Charitable Work Sector at IACAD, received the contribution cheque from Awatif Al Harmoodi, General Manager of Operational Governance at Emirates Islamic, in the presence of Mohammed Suleiman Al Bloushi, Director of Zakat Beneficiaries' Affairs Department and other officials.

Al Harmoodi praised the instrumental role that IACAD plays in terms of monitoring the needs of the less fortunate in the community, in addition to offering Emirates Islamic a platform of contribution to support charitable initiatives in the UAE.

“As an Islamic bank, it is our duty to help IACAD’s beneficiaries and we are delighted that our contribution will support their needs,” said Al Harmoodi.

“Emirates Islamic has previously supported a number of IACAD’s charitable and humanitarian initiatives and we will continue to support projects that contribute to the successful and fruitful partnership between our two organisations,” she added.
