Riyadh -   The Saudi National Water Company (NWC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Advanced Electronics Company to Saudise the kingdom’s smart water metres.

The MoU aims to promote new measurement solutions and establish more innovative ways to overcome technical challenges in the smart water metre industry, NWC said in a statement.

The deal further entails the establishment of research cooperation centres.

The MoU comes as part of the two companies’ endeavours to support Saudi Arabia’s initiatives as part of the National Transformation Programme (NTP) 2020 through actively promoting a full-fledged collaboration between the public and private sectors, NWC added.

The MoU was signed during the proceedings of GITEX 2018 in Dubai. The mega event runs from 14 until 17 October 2018.
