MANAMA: Bahrain will be home to the Conrad brand’s first fully residential luxury development in the Middle East.

Set to open next year, the Conrad Residences Bahrain Financial Harbour will feature 98 “purposefully designed and elegantly serviced apartments”, it was announced yesterday.

The announcement follows the signing of an agreement between Hilton, the owner of the contemporary luxury hotel brand, and First Energy Bank, which owns the First Energy Bank (FEB) Tower, where the property will be located.

“We’re extremely delighted with this partnership with Hilton which will mark the debut of Conrad Hotels & Resorts’ first fully residential property in the Middle East,” said First Energy Bank chief executive Mohamed Ghanem.

“We believe that this will be a high value addition, not only for the upcoming FEB Tower at Bahrain Financial Harbour.”

Mr Ghanem believes the introduction of the Conrad brand to Bahrain will provide further visibility of the hospitality sector in the kingdom.

The property aims to offer a “unique and premium product” and “attract a new class of travellers” to Bahrain, he added.

According to the bank’s website, the FEB Tower is a 27 storey mixed use development situated on a 3,621sqm plot in Bahrain Financial Harbour, a business and residential district.

The tower will have 10 floors of office spaces and 12 floors of residential apartments and penthouses.

It will also house the Sharia-compliant wholesale bank’s headquarters.

The main construction work on the project started in April 2019 and it expected to be completed this March, the website says.

Hilton Middle East and Africa vice-president of development Carlos Khneisser said the group sees “significant opportunity in branded luxury residences” for its “world class hospitality brands”.

“Whether planning a long or short-term stay, guests can look forward to enjoying unparalleled service standards and state-of-the-art amenities at this exclusive Conrad property.” he added.

The property will offer unobstructed views of the Arabian Gulf from its elevated waterfront location, as well as a number of culinary options, including the all-day restaurant, the pool lounge grill, and the lobby café.

The hotel will also offer a fully-equipped gym, an outdoor pool and a boardroom.

“I am thrilled that we will be establishing a presence in Manama with Conrad’s first all-residential property in the Middle East. Providing a host of both leisure and business opportunities amidst the beautiful backdrop of the Arabian Gulf, Bahrain Financial Harbour is the ideal setting in which to debut Conrad’s modern yet stylish residential offering,” says Conrad Hotels & Resorts global brand head Nils-Arne Schroeder.
