A total of 721 fines were issued by the Dubai Police against people on beaches for violating the prescribed precautionary measures to stymie the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

Colonel Saeed Al Madhani, acting-director of Dubai Ports Police Station, said that the violations were issued from March until September 20 this year. He added that the Dubai Police would not tolerate flouting of anti-Covid measures, and will spare no efforts to deter the violators.

He added that the police use different ways to monitor the beaches, including patrolling on bicycles, motorcycles, boats and through drones to ensure public security. Col Al Madhani said that the drones used by the police are equipped with cameras that can take photos during the day as well as night.
