ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi's non-oil trade in 2017 amounted to AED159.9 billion, AED13.2 billion of which was conducted in December, a growth of 3.4 percent over the corresponding period in 2016.

According to figures recently released by the Statistics Centre- Abu Dhabi, the emirate's non-oil exports stood at around AED22.6 billion, with re-exports hitting AED21.7 billion and imports AE115.5 billion.

The statistics cover the emirate's non-oil trade conducted through its land, sea and air ports, and does not include all the emirate's trade with the outer world, nor does it include Abu Dhabi's trade with the country's other emirates.

The emirate's industrial equipment and accessories stood at around AED20.4 billion, accounting for 90 percent of its 2017's exports, while the non-oil exports during the same monitored period hit AED955 billion, with consumable exports reaching AED826 million.

In terms of re-exports, transportation equipment and accessories come first with a total value of AED9.4 billion, accounting for 43.3 percent of the total re-export value, followed by production supplies, AED4.5 billion, and manufacturing equipment AED3.00 billion.

In the meantime, the emirate's manufacturing imports reached AED43.7 billion, accounting for 37.8 percent of the 2017's total imports, while transportation imports stood at AED33.9 billion, production supplies, AED22.4 billion, consumables, AED7 billion and F&B at AED6.23 billion.
