UAE – Mubasher: Ducab Group, one of the largest providers of copper and aluminium in the UAE, is launching a new metals subsidiary, under the name Ducab Metals Business (DMB).

Ducab Aluminium Company (DAC) and Ducab Copper Rod Plant will be included under the umbrella of DMB, alongside its Abu Dhabi-based factories.

A total of 75% of the production of the DMB, the only company in the region to offer both copper and aluminium solutions, is exported to over 35 countries worldwide.

DMB became the third unit within Ducab Group to provide ”Made in UAE” copper and aluminium solutions to a global customer base, according to a press release on Tuesday.

The chairman of Ducab, Ahmad bin Hassan Al Shaikh, said: “The launch of DMB aligns with the growth of the metals segment within Ducab and gives us the opportunity to focus a dedicated team on the needs of our metal customers.”

Al Shaikh added that “In 2019, we increased our copper capacity by 30% to 175,000 tonnes and this enhanced capacity, along with our 50,000 tonnes of aluminium, will allow us to grow the number of markets we serve.”

It is worth noting that Ducab’s copper and aluminium business generated over AED2 billion in revenue last year.

Meanwhile, newly appointed general manager of DMB, Mohamed Al Ahmedi, noted that “As a standalone business dedicated to this field, the creation of DMB will allow us to further improve the service of our clients whilst opening new opportunities to expand our reach.”
