AGU – Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain: A research team from the Innovation and Technology Department of the College of Graduate Studies in the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) recently participated in the preparation of research on the enabling factors of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Participating in the preparation of the research was a Ph.D. student at AGU Suha Atallah, in cooperation with Prof. Odeh Al Jayyousi and Prof. Rustom Mamlook. It confirmed that the enabling factors have a positive impact on the creativity of SMEs and usually leads to an increase in the number of job opportunities and economic competitive ability.

The study recommended that Bahrain invests in the infrastructure and culture of supporting the creativity of SMEs, as investing in human and institutional resources benefits the sustainability of the economy. It also mentioned that creativity is considered as an important factor for social and economic development that enables companies of adapting to, developing and fulfilling the future requirement.

According to the research, the enabling factors of SMEs include the government, human resources, networks, knowledge, entrepreneurship culture and the abilities of connectivity and provision of technology.  The study concluded that these enabling factors contribute to creating an international market, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and strengthening economic growth.

It is worth to mention that the research was accepted to be published in the American Academic and Scholarly Research Centre.
