JEDDAH: The Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic (SPSP) launched a training program for engineers on Monday, in cooperation with the French Institute of Petroleum.

The program will teach engineering skills in oil refining and petrochemicals, and is aimed at developing the Kingdom’s oil production capabilities. The Saudi Council of Engineers, Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery Co. and Saudi Aramco Total Petrochemical Co. will also contribute to the program.

SPSP, which has more than 10 years of experience as an internationally recognized leader in its field, will also build strategic partnerships with other leading energy firms in the region, so that the expertise on offer as part of the training program can be of wider benefit to the oil industry in Saudi Arabia.
