Two major healthcare projects will be unveiled this week during a major medical conference that will be attended by investors and regional experts.

The projects consist of a complex of private and integrated medical clinics, and the second is an industrial zone for healthcare.

They will be showcased for the first time at the BDFEX Health Care Investment Forum to be held on Wednesday and Thursday at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa under the patronage of Supreme Council for Health chairman Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.

“The model of these two projects will be presented to investors from Bahrain and the Arab Gulf countries during the events of the forum,” said Proact International Consultancy general manager Dr Khalid Bomtaia.

The company is organising the two-day event in partnership with United Gulf Industrial Consortia, to discuss important solutions and innovations in the health industry in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

“The two projects are to be launched at a time when investment in health sector facilities is witnessing a great interest in the region and the world.

“The attraction of the two investment projects is based on their unprecedented qualitative design at the level of Bahrain and the Arabian Gulf.”

Dr Bomtaia said the medical clinic complex project covers an area between 8,000sqm and 10,000sqm and consists of six floors.

“This is in addition to two underground service floors, an emergency entrance and a heliport.

“The complex will also include clinics in various specialisations, open on freehold or rental basis, equipped with necessary facilities ranging from operation rooms, emergency department, laboratories, admission rooms and suites.”

The complex will also feature reception halls, meeting rooms and a conference room, a research centre, library and a pharmacy.

“The management of the complex will also be carried out by experienced administrative doctors to handle and operate health facilities,” added Dr Bomtaia.

The project will be a complex for light and medium medical industries such as injections, sterilisers, medical solutions and all medical supplies.

The event, ‘Business Development and Investment in Healthcare and Medical Industries’, will feature National Health Regulatory Authority chief executive Dr Mariam Al Jalahma as its keynote speaker.
