UAE – Mubasher: EDGE, the advanced technology group for defence and beyond, has allocated more than AED 1 billion to develop advanced technologies in the fields of missiles, vehicles, as well as research and development during 2020, the CEO and managing director of EDGE, Faisal Al Bannai, told Emirates News Agency (WAM).

This announcement was made on the sidelines of the Unmanned Systems Exhibition (UMEX) and the Simulation and Training Exhibition (SimTEX) 2020.

Al Bannai said that EDGE will partner with several international defence and security industry companies in the coming period, in addition to signing deals in the next two months.

The CEO of EDGE added that the group includes 25 companies specialised in five main sectors; weapons, systems, electronic warfare, technical support, and cyber security.

He concluded that EDGE signed military and security deals worth more than $5 billion in 2019.
