• The Train for Work program was initiated to support the Human Resources Authority in implementing the Ghadan 21 program

Abu Dhabi, (UAE) – Mubadala Investment Company today announced that it has recruited over 760 Emiratis, including 12 ‘People of Determination,’ to join its group of companies this year.

This major recruitment drive is part of the company’s ongoing ‘Train for Work’ program, which was initiated last year to support the Human Resources Authority (HRA) in implementing the Ghadan 21’s Government Accelerators Program, while the Emirati ‘People of Determination’ joined the Group as part of its commitment to the Muthabara program in partnership with Zayed Higher Organization (ZHO).

At a special ceremony organized by Mubadala, HRA and ZHO, 455 new recruits received and signed their employment contracts, to join the 300 Emiratis who were already hired in various companies within the Mubadala Group this year. The event was also attended by officials from the three entities, as well as senior leadership team members.

The Train for Work program is a Mubadala initiative designed to train and develop the skills of young Emiratis. By providing real work experience opportunities, the program seeks to prepare UAE National talent to join the workforce.

The Muthabara program aims to explore opportunities, implement a number of joint projects, and improve services in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to empower the development of ‘People of Determination’ and integrate them into society. The program also focuses on matching the employment needs of Mubadala’s group of companies, identifying candidates, and enabling them with the skills and on-the-job practical experience.

Commenting on Train for Work and Muthabara, Homaid Al Shimmari, Deputy Group CEO and Chief Corporate & Human Capital Officer at Mubadala, said: “We are proud to deliver on our mandate to attract, nurture and recruit a diverse base of Emirati talent. We have always believed that to drive economic growth, we must invest in people first. This is a reflection of Mubadala’s commitment to cultivating the capabilities of UAE nationals where we proudly contribute to the next generation of leaders.  We aim to develop exceptional talent across our workforce and many alumni are now leading significant initiatives for the Government of Abu Dhabi and the UAE.”.”

Al Shimmari added: “Diversity is a critical part of who we are as a nation, and we are committed to taking actions that provide ‘People of Determination’ with the opportunity to realize their goals and positively contribute to the progress of the UAE. The Mubadala Group takes great pride in fostering a culture that embraces the unique talents and contributions of all colleagues.”

Hassan Al Hosani, Acting Director General of the Human Resources Authority, said the Authority would continue its endeavors, along with strategic partners, to attract and assimilate national talent into vital sectors, and allow them to take a leading role across all specializations and to contribute proactively to Abu Dhabi’s competitiveness and the UAE’s development drive.

“Consolidation of efforts of all sectors is vital to achieving the best human capital investment and enhancing competitiveness of our national talent in line with the vision of our leadership,” he said.

Abdullah Abdul Ali Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of the Zayed Higher Organization praised the Mubadala-ZHO cooperation as a role model of a successful partnership geared towards empowering People of Determination and ensuring their full integration into society, in line with our leadership's vision of furthering social cohesion and ensuring equal opportunity for all.

Al Humaidan also congratulated the People of Determination who signed the employment contracts to join Mubadala Group, urging them to work hard and unleash their best creative capabilities. He also thanked parents and families for their cooperation with ZHO.

"Zayed Higher Organization's strategy, under the directives of Sheikh Khaled Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is focused on enabling People of Determination, creating the ecosystem for their advancement and enhancing their access to job opportunities. This is pursued through reaching out to all sectors of society, improving community awareness of the needs of this segment and encouraging their inclusion into society." he added.

Mubadala’s Train for Work program consists of a six-month placement at Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) to develop both hard and soft skills of young Emiratis. Following that, the trainees are placed at various companies within the Mubadala Group, with the ultimate objective to offer them employment contracts after 18 months of training.

The Muthabara program was launched following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mubadala and ZHO and has since focused on the evaluation and enhancement of workplace accessibility across Mubadala’s group of companies, ensuring alignment with global occupational health and safety standards for ‘People of Determination,’ developing and implementing unique training and orientation programs for the new recruits, the teams they will work with, and the companies hiring them.
