Abu Dhabi, UAE: The 4th edition of the National Service Career Fair (NSCF) continues its activities for the second day at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). NSCF provides a unique opportunity for students and graduates of the national service program to get acquainted with the market and to learn about the vacancies in the government and private sectors and get the jobs that best suit them.

The second day of the exhibition witnessed a distinguished participation of the national service recruits, students and graduates who participated in various activities in the exhibition, including the assessment zone that helps participants to identify the best jobs that suit their expertise by collecting their data and their interests. The participants have also showed great interest in the workshops that focused on the development of young people's experiences and their role in building a prosperous future.

The event has featured also the participation of “Youth 101” in a workshop that lasted for a whole day where they tackled a number of topics like the development of the advanced skills, education and how to choose the right major. The workshop also talked about the importance of education in the development of career path (lifelong education), the ambition in the labor market, the path of the UAE youth abroad, specializations, skills and career from a private sector perspective, and advanced skills to keep up with the future.

Furthermore, the Federal Youth Authority conducted a workshop under the title “Developing Skills” where they spoke about presentation skills, interviews skills, and how to write a CV.

Speaking about the importance of the event, Engineer Mohamed Al Hammadi, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, said: “The National Service Career Fair plays a vital role in opening the communication channels between the graduates of the national service program and the employers from both the public and private sectors. Through this fair, we look forward to reaching out to the national service graduates who are interested in joining the nuclear energy sector and introducing them to the importance of the peaceful nuclear sector in supporting the economic and social growth in the country.”

He added: “The importance of the exhibition is not only to secure the professional future of the recruits, but also to guide those who want to continue their education after completing the national service program requirements. NSCF aims at strengthening the channels of communication with national service recruits and attract them to work in the nuclear energy sector, in line with our objectives at the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation to increase the number of the UAE staff, support the national competencies and provide them with training and career opportunities in order to qualify them to participate in the UAE's peaceful nuclear program that contributes significantly to the UAE Energy Strategy 2050.”

He also said: “NSCF is an excellent convergence point for the government and private sectors to meet with the recruits and graduates of the national service program and acquaint them with the career opportunities available in different sectors. This would save the recruits the trouble of searching for the job that best suit them. It also gives them the chance to learn about the development opportunities offered by the participating organizations which include various training programs that meet different aspirations in all fields. This comes in line with the guidance of our wise leadership that is keen to develop and qualify Emirati talents and develop their skills to be able to excel in various sectors to serve their country.”

The participation of ADNOC Technical Academy in the National Service Career Fair is an important opportunity to learn about the specialized programs offered by the Academy to train and develop Emirati youth to qualify them for jobs in the oil and gas sector, which fulfills their aspirations and enables them to contribute to the development process in the UAE. Manager of ADNOC Technical Academy, Dr. Mohammad Al Menhali, confirmed that ADNOC is committed to invest in the preparation of national youth cadres and qualify them to work in the oil and gas sector as one of the most vital sectors that contribute to supporting social and economic development in the country. The role of ADNOC Technical Academy is to provide state-of-the-art training programs in specialized technical fields, which enable trainees to develop their skills and shape their abilities to build a successful career.

Dr. Mohammad Al Menhali said: “ADNOC Technical Academy is keen to participate in all national initiatives aimed at serving an important segment of the nation as the main pillar of society, so we look forward through our participation in this exhibition to attract the graduates of the national service and encourage them to join the Academy, to prepare a new generation of specialists and technicians that meet the needs of ADNOC's expansion and growth plans in the sector and ensures continued success and development over the coming decades.”

From his side, Firas Al Tabbaa, Head – Public & Government Relations and Deputy Director, Skyline University College, said: “Skyline University College has been an active party in this fair since its establishment. The college aims at enabling graduate students to enter the academic and practical life and help them to choose the appropriate specialization and field. The Skyline University College offers distinct Bachelor and Master programs and offers a unique information technology program which is considered one of the key majors that suits the national service program graduates to enroll in.”

He added: “Skyline University College has a team of counselors who help students choose the specialization and field suitable for their practical and scientific life and enable them to enter the labor market and its challenges and acquire the required certificates. Such events are considered vital, as it gives the opportunity for universities as well as candidate students to meet and learn about majors needed in the labor market which would help the recruits in choosing the field that best suit them according to the market needs.”

It is worth mentioning that the National Service Career Fair will continue until 15th of October, and  is organized by the UAE Armed Forces, represented by the National Service and Reserve Authority, in collaboration with INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions – a member of INDEX Holding.
