Ras Al Khaimah - GCC GOV HR Awards has named Aysha Sulaiman, Group Director of HR, Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), as the GOV HR Leader of the Year during an awarding ceremony held in Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi recently.

The exclusive awards programme coincided with the 5th Annual GOV HR Summit, the region’s key human resources event that gathers high-level executives in the field. On the road to becoming the first Ras Al Khaimah government employee to receive the honour, Aysha Sulaiman competed against HR leaders from reputable government entities across the UAE and the whole Gulf region.

“We have gone through uniting RAK FTZ and RAKIA under the umbrella of RAKEZ in the past year and it was a pleasure to work with a go-getter like Aysha in such a crucial phase. She always stepped up in the face of challenges and her passion for people is very evident. I’d like to congratulate Aysha for being the first from Ras Al Khaimah to win the award, adding another milestone to her long list of achievements,” Ramy Jallad, Group CEO of RAKEZ, RAK FTZ and RAKIA. “Among our top three objectives at RAKEZ is to become the number one ‘Employer of Choice’. I know we are a long way to the top, but I can tell you, we have already made a big leap towards improving the work environment and career path that we provide to our greatest investment – our people. This is why, I consider Aysha’s achievement as a win for us all at RAKEZ as it reflects that we are on the right track towards our goal.”

Commenting on her win, Aysha Sulaiman said: “I always believed that in every journey, rides can get bumpy, but the destination is always worth it. The past months have been a rollercoaster ride for me and my team, ensuring that everything goes smooth for the launch of RAKEZ. The extra hours and commitment we put into accomplishing every task have been paid off. I am ecstatic for being recognised by the prestigious GOV HR Awards. I am blessed to be part of a supportive government entity and to be side by side with a pool of dedicated people.”
