Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Cambridge International Examinations has announced a 12 per cent increase in entries for Cambridge qualifications in 2017. Over 100 schools in the UAE made around 54,000 entries for Cambridge qualifications this year.
The results of the June 2017 exam series, once again showed strong demand for Cambridge programmes in UAE and around the world.
The most popular Cambridge subjects taken this year were Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.
This year Cambridge International AS & A Level entries increased by 11 per cent in the UAE, with more than 3,500 students taking them in the June 2017 exam series. Cambridge IGCSE entries in UAE also rose by 13 per cent this year. Over 8,000 UAE students took Cambridge IGCSEs in the June 2017 series.
Globally, more schools than ever are choosing Cambridge to educate and assess students at every stage of the curriculum, with entries growing across programmes. Cambridge International AS & A Level entries rose by 10 per cent this year and Cambridge IGCSE continues to be the world’s most popular international curriculum for 14 to 16 year olds, with entries increasing by 7 per cent internationally.
There has also been a huge increase in the number of younger students now studying Cambridge programmes. Entries for Cambridge Primary Checkpoint tests grew by 17 per cent globally this year, and Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint tests increased by nine per cent.
