DUBAI- The Gulf Traffic Exhibition and Conference was opened on Monday by Hassan Al Mansouri, Under-Secretary, Ministry of Infrastructure Development, at Dubai World Trade Centre, in the presence of Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.

The theme of the three-day event is "Smart Technologies."Ahmed Abdullah AlHammadi, Director of the Federal Roads Department, Ministry of Infrastructure Development, delivered the keynote address in which he dwelt on the UAEs transport and infrastructure vision.

The show opened with a VIP ceremony featuring regional municipal leaders sharing their visions. Discussions will focus on smart mobility within the region.

Speakers dealt with issues including global lessons on key success factors in building a successful PPP programme, ways to enhance multi-modal transportation with smart solutions, while managing risk, laying the groundwork for smart mobility, how the Middle East may best prepare for the future of smart mobility and traffic management 2.0 as a contributor to smarter mobility in cities.

A key highlight for this year, the introduction of Gulf Parking as a brand new standalone exhibition, which will run adjacent to Gulf Traffic, further adds to the brands offering by widening the focus to support other key industry sectors. This new launch event will cater to the latest in smart payment and intelligent access control solutions from across the world, creating a new avenue for companies to showcase their latest product range to the traffic and transport industries.

Officially supported by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Mawaqif, a division of the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport, and Dubai Police, Gulf Traffic hosts over 150 exhibitors and attracts approximately 2,500 industry peers from 50 countries, both across the Middle East and beyond.
