AJMAN, 20th May, 2017 (WAM) -- Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ACCI, has participated in the 20th Arab-German Business Forum, organised recently by the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Union of Arab Chambers of Commerce and the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry, DIHK, in Berlin.

The forum was attended by Abdullah Al Muwaiji, Chairman of Ajman Chamber, Yahya Bin Saeed Al Jabri, Chairman of the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm, Sultanate of Oman, Saeed Al Kiyoumi, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Ali Al Ghanem, Chairman of Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with a number of senior officials, businessmen and investors from Arab countries and Germany.

The participants at the forum discussed economic ties between the Arab countries and Germany. According to Arab-German Chamber of Commerce, the trade balance between the two sides has exceeded 52 billion Euros, including 33 percent for the UAE alone. This is in addition to the Arab investments in Germany, which have reached over 100 billion Euros.

During the forum, the Arab side stressed on the need to increase the German investments in the Arab states and transfer the experience and training to them. It also highlighted the investment opportunities in Sultanate of Oman, particularly Doqm. The attendees further reiterated the importance of transferring experience of the German companies to the projects being carried out in the GCC countries, especially the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar in the fields of renewable energy, smart city planning, various means of transportation, environmental conservation and sustainable development.

Al Muwaiji called on ACCIs members to take part in such forums, which stand platforms to share and exchange experiences. And it also help increase volume of the trade, promote the local products and open new markets in both sides, in addition to benefiting from the German experience.
