RIYADH --  Veolia Water Technologies Saudi Arabia, a leading provider of innovative, sustainable and environmentally friendly water treatment solutions, has announced its participation at the upcoming District Cooling Arabia industry exhibition to be held in Riyadh on Oct. 12-13, 2015.

As Saudi Arabia undergoes massive demographic and economic growth with the population increasing by around 4% every year, Veolia's role is critical in the government's vast program to rehabilitate and develop the country's water and wastewater system infrastructure and improve operating practices, particularly in the key cities. Veolia's expertise is called upon to provide the strategic demographic areas with more efficient services that will be more in keeping with its high level of economic growth.

During the two-day summit, Veolia will leverage its industry track record over the past 160 years of delivering water treatment, services and solutions worldwide, and 35 years in the kingdom. Veolia currently operates over 40 districts cooling networks worldwide, and in the Middle East, Veolia Water Technologies builds or operates district cooling plants for a combined cooling capacity of around 250,000 RT (875 MWc).

The forthcoming Riyadh show will be an opportune time for Veolia Water Technologies to reassert its trailblazing accomplishments and launch the latest innovative technologies, chemical solutions portfolio for district cooling systems, notably the much awaited "smart automatic controlling systems" - the Aquavista 5C. Operated by a state-of-the-art technology, Veolia's Aquavista Complete Cooling Tower Control System maintains all of the system's critical parameters - including inhibitor concentration, pH, conductivity and biocide concentration. By utilizing a combination of operational inputs, chemistry-active monitoring and system results, the Aquavista Complete Cooling Tower Control System can diagnose the conditions that precede scaling, corrosion and bio-fouling and deliver the appropriate chemical response solution.

Dr Badr Ghawji, Managing Director of Veolia Water Technologies Saudi Arabia, said: "Veolia has the most water-related technologies available anywhere, and we are experts at combining them to create tailor-made solutions helping cities and industries manage, optimize and recycle water.  In a country where water resources are scarce such as Saudi Arabia, our solutions allow to optimize processes, reduce water footprint and generate considerable savings in energy and chemical consumption, helping to sustain economic development." Against this backdrop, he said participation in District Cooling Arabia exhibition will further enhance its image and position as the leading provider of water solutions for district cooling where efficient water treatment, reuse of water and chemical solutions are paramount in the country's advancement.

Veolia group is the global leader in optimized resource management. The group designs and provides water, waste and energy management solutions that contribute to the sustainable development of communities and industries. Through its three complementary business activities, Veolia helps to develop access to resources, preserve available resources, and to replenish them.

In 2014, the Veolia group supplied 96 million people with drinking water and 60 million people with wastewater service, produced 52 million megawatt hours of energy and converted 31 million metric tons of waste into new materials and energy.
