United Projects for Aviation Services Company (UPAC), a leading commercial real estate and facilities management company, has completed Phase II of the installation of a new state-of-the-art automated car parking system at the Kuwait International Airport.

This car park system, the first-of-its-kind in Kuwait, will help streamline vehicle traffic in and out of the car park and reduce congestion, especially during peak hours and busy travel seasons.

UPAC operates and manages all commercial space at the airport, including the airport mall and car park with 2200 spaces for long and short-term parking.

Earlier this year UPAC completed Phase I of this implementation by installing the new system at all the existing entries and exits for both the long and short term parking. Two additional exit lanes were also included in this phase of the project.

UPAC has now successfully completed Phase II of this project by installing two auto pay units in the airport terminal. These units reduce the waiting time for visitors, who can now pay their parking fees at the auto pay units before exiting the airport terminal and leave the parking faster via one of the three dedicated auto pay exits.

Nadia Akil, CEO of UPAC, said: "We are excited to be the first company to introduce this advanced car parking technology to Kuwait. At UPAC, our priority is to manage the airport efficiently and that includes ensuring visitors have the best experience. We are confident the new automated car park technology will make parking at Kuwait International Airport more user-friendly, smoother and quicker."

Akil added: "We are extremely grateful to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation for their cooperation and support throughout the implementation process and look forward to collaborating with them again to enhance the airport in the coming future."

Established in 2000, publicly listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange, and headquartered in Kuwait, UPAC is a leading commercial real estate and facilities management company with a specialization in Build Operate Transfer (BOT) initiatives.

Its services cover project management and consultancy, real estate development as well as property and facilities management. UPAC manages over 24,000 sqm of commercial space at the Kuwait International Airport, Sheikh Saad Terminal and other prominent locations within the country.
