Specialist consultants to meet patients at Al Qasimi, Kuwait, Fujairah, Al Baraha, Al Amal, Saqr & Khorfakkan Hospitals
UAE - The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention has revealed the details of its ‘Visiting Consultants Program’ for April 2017. The visiting consultants will be visiting the Al Qassimi and Kuwait Hospitals in Sharjah, Fujairah Hospital in Fujairah, Al Baraha and Al Amal Hospitals in Dubai, Saqr Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah, and Khorfakkan Hospital in Khorfakkan. They will provide consultation along with diagnostic and therapeutic services in various specialties, including gastrointestinal diseases; ear, nose and throat (ENT) disorders; bariatric surgery; orthopaedics; ophthalmology and psychiatry.
Dr. Deborah Proctor, Gastroenterology Consultant and Medical Director for the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Program at Yale University in the USA, the consultant will visit Fujairah Hospital from April 3 to 4, 2017 and Kuwait Hospital on April 5, 2017. She has completed her residency and fellowship program from the Harvard Medical School in Boston and her areas of expertise include IBD and Hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT).
Dr. Alwyn D’Souza, Consultant Surgeon for ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery working at the University of Lewisham Hospital in London, UK, he will be available at Al Baraha Hospital from April 9 to 13, 2017. A Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in England, he has interest in plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, including skin cancer and rhinoplasty.
Dr. Fadi Maalouf, the Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the American University of Beirut Medical Center in Lebanon, Dr Fadi will be at Al Amal Hospital on April 9, 2017 and Khorfakkan Hospital from April 10 to 13, 2017. He has completed his residency in psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry from Harvard Medical School and specialises in child and adolescent psychiatry as well as suicide.
Dr. Almantas Maleckas, the Head of the Department of Gastroenterology at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, he will be available at Saqr Hospital from April 9 to 13, 2017. He completed his medical specialization at the Kaunas Medical Academy in Lithuania with a doctorate and is an expert in bariatric and laparoscopic surgeries.
Dr. Ashesh Bhumkar, an ENT Consultant based in Thane, India, he will see patients at Al Qassimi Hospital from April 16 to 17, 2017. An Honorary Consultant at the University of Mumbai in India, he has completed MBBS and MS -ENT from B.J. Medical College, Pune, India. He specialises in surgical external ear reconstruction and stapes surgery.
Dr. Don Kikawa, Chief of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Vice Chairman at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD)’s Department of Ophthalmology, the consultant will see patients at Al Baraha Hospital from April 16 to 20, 2017. He has completed his residency at Jules Stein Eye Institute (UCLA) and a fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Orbital Surgery at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His clinical interest includes aesthetic and reconstructive oculofacial surgery and orbital surgery.
Dr. Dominique Francois Gazielly, an expert in shoulder surgery with more than 30 years of professional experience, Dr Gazielly will join Al Qassimi Hospital’s Orthopaedic team from April 16 to 20, 2017. He is a Professor Laureate of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lyon in France and specialised in shoulder joint surgery in Canada and the US.
