DUBAI  - Abu Dhabi's new midfield terminal is 97.6% complete, Bryan Thompson, chief executive officer of Abu Dhabi Airports, said on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters at an aviation event, Thompson said he could not give a date for the opening of the terminal, saying it will open when it is completed.

The 10.8 billion dirham ($2.94 billion) Midfield Terminal project, which will increase the airport's passenger handling capacity to 45 million a year, has already faced a series of delays from the initial July 2017 opening.
