RIYADH - Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz laid foundation stone of Diriyah Gate project, which aims at restoring the historical area as a cultural heritage project.

Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said the project aimed at restoring the historical area to its ancient past in the 18th century in order to become a local and international tourist destination.

It said King Salman witnessed a visual presenation of the Diriyah seven Gates.

SPA said the 64 billion riyals (USD 17 billion) seven-square-kilometer project provided five areas for assemblies and explorations like squares, museums, art centers, more than 100 restaurants and shops. (end) mdm.bs
