MHD opens new MG Motor showroom in Barka

Muscat: Mohsin Haider Darwish (MHD), the official distributor of MG Motor in the Sultanate recently celebrated the opening of its new showroom in Barka. The state-of-the-art showroom located in Al Manuma complex, blends convenience, ease of use and best-in-class facilities.

The showroom’s VIP launch event took place on 8th March under the auspices of H.E. Sayyid Saud bin Hilal bin Hamad al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat and was presided over by Areej Mohsin Darwish, Chairperson of MHD LLC. Also in attendance, were a number of Highnesses and Excellencies, together with Lujaina Mohsin Darwish, Deputy Chairperson of MHD LLC, Tom Lee, MD of Saic Motor Middle East (SMME), as well as senior management and executives from SMME and MHD.

The line-up that will be displayed at the Barka showroom, include all of MG Motor’s best-selling cars including the all-new HS, and the enormously successful RX8, that have already proven extremely popular following their launch in December last year.


Along with having a full-fledged service and parts facility and trained professionals, the Barka facility will be a complete sales, service and parts outlet for all MG Motor customers in the region.

It is noteworthy that in 2019, MG Motor doubled its market share across the Gulf, and has set an ambitious target to break into the top 10 of manufacturers by the end of 2020. Impressive performances were recorded in Oman, with around four times as many customers buying MG cars compared to the previous year. The brand’s partnership with MHD was central to this impressive growth.
