AMMAN - The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) on Monday decided to lower interest rates on all monetary policy instruments by 100 basis points and 75 basis points on the deposits window for one night as of Tuesday.

In a press statement, the bank said that it lowered the interest rate on rediscounts from 4.5 per cent to 3.5 per cent annually, and lowered the interest rate on repurchase agreements for one night from 4.25 per cent to 3.25 per cent, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The CBJ also said that its main rate has been reduced from 3.5 per cent to 2.5 per cent annually, while the interest rate on the deposit window was reduced for one night from 2.75 per cent to 2 per cent.
