US-based Lockheed Martin, a global technology company, will exhibit its diverse portfolio of aerospace and defence solutions at the Dubai Airshow, to be held next week in Dubai, UAE.

The event will take place from November 17 to 21, at Dubai World Central, Dubai Air Show Site.

The 2019 Dubai Airshow will build on the overwhelming success of the last event, which drew 79,380 trade visitors from around the world, 1,200 exhibitors from 63 countries, 1,603 international and regional media and an order book in excess of $113.8 billion.

This year, Lockheed Martin will showcase some new capabilities that support aerospace and defence industry development in the region – including its integrated air and missile defence technology, ground-based air defence system, radars, a space-themed Majlis and much more.

Lockheed Martin has a history of over 50 years of collaboration across the Middle East. The partnership with UAE has evolved over decades in strengthening the country’s security and prosperity through defence, advanced technology and knowledge transfer programmes.

Lockheed Martin partners with the UAE government and Armed Forces on key defence programmes and local initiatives including the Advanced Military Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (AMMROC) facility in Abu Dhabi and the Center for Innovation and Security Solutions (CISS) in Masdar City.

Robert S Harward, chief executive for Lockheed Martin in the Middle East, said: “The Dubai Airshow is an opportunity to reaffirm our enduring commitment to this dynamic region and offers Lockheed Martin a valuable opportunity to connect and engage with our local partners, as well as to showcase our wide range of advanced technological capabilities.”

“We actively support the UAE's goal of becoming a leader in cutting-edge defence solutions and look forward to expanding our role in helping it embed innovative ideas while attracting local talent to the defence sector,” he added.
