Poma Group wins major Ain Dubai project work

Poma Group, a leading player in the ropeway transportation solutions, has been signed up by Hyundai Engineering & Construction (E&C) as a major partner for Ain Dubai, the worlds tallest observation wheel being built on Bluewaters, Meraas' sophisticated island destination in the emirate.

It is strategically positioned at 1,600 ft off The Beach, the laid-back beachfront destination by Meraas, located opposite JBR and near Dubai Marina which includes entertainment and retail zones.

With over 8,000 lifts built worldwide over the past 83 years, the Poma Group is a leading player in ropeway transportation solutions, said the company in a statement.

The leading French group is renowned for its ability to design, build, install, operate and maintain innovative, sustainable and durable transportation solutions.

All over the globe, it has already demonstrated its know-how and expertise in ropeway transportation in both urban and mountain areas in the tourist, entertainment, science and industrial sectors, it added.

The scope of work includes engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) and also the provision of 48 high-tech capsules for Ain Dubai, said the statement.

The project management, engineering and procurement work has already commenced, it added.

For many years, Poma has been chosen to provide capsules for observation wheel projects, such as the London Eye in London or the High Roller in Las Vegas, delivering engineering expertise and strong project execution, said the company in its statement.

This latest award further demonstrates the ability of the company to innovate and design the right engineering solutions that ensures a safe, effective and cost-efficient project delivery, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
