Khazaen Economic City has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Majis Industrial Services to study and evaluate the development and execution of potable water and wastewater services in Khazaen Economic City area.

Khazaen is an integrated economic city spread over a total area of 51mn square meter in South Batinah Governorate and will have a dry-port along with logistics, freezone, industrial, commercial and residential zones.

Since it was established in 2006, Majis Industrial Services has grown to become one-stop water solutions provider for Oman’s growing industrial sector.

Through the agreement, the parties agreed to study and evaluate the development of potable water and waste water infrastructure for the city using best international practices, said a press release.

The MoU also aims to prepare a strategy for the implementation of these services to cover the entire city and review network designs including reservoirs, overall demand and attending workshops and meetings with the concerned parties and stakeholders.
