• Christos Christou: "We are an organization made of people, for the people. Every challenge can be turned into an opportunity"

Dubai: LinkedIn Middle East has launched a campaign in partnership with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) to showcase MSF's achievements and document their work globally and in the region.

The campaign uses the hashtag #LinkedInForAll across social media platforms and features testimonies and interviews that showcase the personal experiences that the team encounters in their daily lives, be it in the office or in hospitals. Over the next few weeks, MSF's staff will publish a series of videos chronicling their crucial efforts in making a difference to those who are marginalized and in need.

The partnership with MSF will be the first edition of ‘LinkedIn For All’ campaign. Future partnerships with various organizations and entities will highlight diverse professional experiences in both vital and creative sectors, celebrating their role in changing people's lives for the better.

Ali Matar, Head of LinkedIn MENA and Emerging Markets, said: "The LinkedIn For All campaign aims to celebrate the experiences of professionals across various sectors and showcase valuable and inspiring content. I am proud to launch its first version in partnership with MSF-UAE to give voice to the humanitarian medical community on LinkedIn."

Matar added: "As we continue to discuss the future of work, it is important to remember that not everyone has the luxury to choose from the new and flexible work models. While most of us were fortunate to work from the safety of our homes during lockdown and in some cases up until today, the medical community had to report to work and face risk and uncertainty to care for those of us who fell ill.  They are the heroes of the 21st century fighting a fierce enemy we can't see but can definitely feel the impact of."

During his video message within the campaign, Dr. Christos Christou, MSF's International President, said: "Leading such a big medical humanitarian organization is not an easy task, especially in such challenging moments, however every challenge can be turned into an opportunity. And in our case there is a huge opportunity to rethink and redesign MSF. We are an organization made from people, for the people”.

"[We] are there not only to alleviate people’s suffering, not just to restore their dignity, but we are there to give again hope to all those people,” he added.

LinkedIn's editorial team will also conduct an interview with Dr Christou about the organization's vision and operations around the world, especially in conflict zones, showcasing the organization's efforts and experiences amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The campaign will run until October 10. LinkedIn members on the platform can engage with the campaign and learn about the medical career path, as part of the platform’s vision to create economic opportunity for every member of the global workforce. LinkedIn has over 774 million members, more than 40 million of whom are in the Middle East and North Africa region across various professions, sectors and fields.
