Indian carrier IndiGo entered Saudi Arabia with the launch of the first frequency between Mumbai and Jeddah in June. After Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Kuwait and Oman, Jeddah is the seventh destination in the Middle East where IndiGo has commenced operations. The airline currently operates a daily non-stop flight between Mumbai and Jeddah, thereby extending direct connectivity between India and the Kingdom.

William Boulter, chief commercial officer, IndiGo, said: “As we expand our presence in the Middle East, we are delighted to commence operations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with daily direct flights between Mumbai and Jeddah. We see a huge potential on the route, with Jeddah being the commercial capital and gateway to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. Direct connectivity will promote social cohesion between the two countries with extensive cultural, business and tourism links.”

Boulter added: “IndiGo will continue to expand its network to meet the requirements of both business and leisure travelers. It is our constant endeavor to provide flexibility of choice to our customers as IndiGo continues to offer them on-time, affordable, courteous and hassle-free flying experience always.”
