Saudi Arabia: IHG® (InterContinental Hotels Group), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, is hosting an open career day for voco® Makkah, world’s largest voco® hotel and voco® Al Khobar on Thursday, 5th September 2019. Being organized at three locations; Crowne Plaza® Al Khobar, Crowne Plaza® Jeddah and Dar Al Tawhid InterContinental® Makkah between 9am and 5pm, the open day aims to bring together the best talent within the hospitality industry in Saudi Arabia and highlight multiple roles, across profiles, available at voco® hotels in the country.

The newest addition to IHG’s global portfolio of brands, voco® combines the informality and charm of an individual hotel with the quality and reassurance of a global and respected brand. Since its global launch, just over a year ago, voco® has enjoyed rapid growth with multiple signings across the Middle East, including voco® Makkah and voco® Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia.

The 4,200-room voco® Makkah, when fully operational in early 2020, will cater to the growing number of religious travellers in KSA. With a range of business and leisure facilities, voco® Al Khobar is set to be a great choice for both corporate and leisure travellers visiting the city, when the hotel open its doors to guests later this year.

Commenting on the event, Pascal Gauvin, Managing Director, India, Middle East & Africa, IHG, said: “Encouraged by KSA Vision 2030, the tourism and hospitality sector in Saudi Arabia is expected to grow and flourish in the years to come. IHG has a long history within the Kingdom, and as we continue to expand our presence, we are committed to the hiring and development of national talent to support our growth, as people are at the heart of our business. We are proud to facilitate the development of the Saudi talent and have many exciting career opportunities to offer prospective employees.

He added, “Our newest upscale brand voco® has received phenomenal response in the Middle East from our guests as well as the owners and our business partners, and I am confident the band will offer a great platform and a unique experience to the Saudi talent looking for an exciting career in the hospitality industry.”

Anna-Maria Dreesen-El Achcar, VP, HR, IMEA, added: “The open career day provide us with the opportunity to connect with passionate and ambitious talent who are looking to play a central role in Saudi Arabia’s growing hospitality industry. As we build on our long-standing, successful history in Saudi Arabia,, we are focused on the empowerment of the country’s youth, and promoting female talent to develop a leading hospitality sector within the Kingdom.”

Committed to continuous talent planning, IHG runs a number of initiatives, such as the IHG Academy, a pioneering global collaboration between IHG and local education and community providers. Recently, IHG was also named amongst the top three best places to work in Saudi Arabia in 2018, by Great Places to Work®, the global authority on Workplace Culture assessment.
