Dubai: – The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) has kickstarted its participation at the 38th GITEX Technology Week 2018, taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre until October 18, where the Foundation will be showcasing the latest developments regarding its knowledge projects, initiatives and services.

MBRF will be exhibiting its Knowledge4All smartphone application, which offers publications from the Knowledge Project. The Project is a collaboration bringing the Foundation together with the United Nations Development Project (UNDP) to build knowledge-based societies and issue policies that embrace knowledge as a means to ensure sustainable development.

Knowledge4All targets researchers, students, universities, schools, and policymakers. The application allows users to upload all works created as part of the Knowledge Project, including knowledge reports, results of the Global Knowledge Index and Global Reading Index, and visualised data and infographics showcasing these results.

MBRF’s CEO His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb said: “Our participation in a prominent international event such as GITEX Technology Week reflects our commitment to playing a part in creating constructive dialogue around the importance of knowledge. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation will be showcasing advanced approaches and smart services that expand the reach of the Knowledge Project’s initiatives to include the largest possible number of experts, decision makers and policymakers from around the world.”

Furthermore, the Foundation will be showcasing the latest additions to the Dubai Digital Library, which now houses 2 million digital items, including newspapers, magazines, books, and studies, among others. MBRF will also be shedding light on the Zayed Library, which was launched during the Year of Zayed to document all that has been written and published about the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Founding Father of the UAE. Visitors to the Dubai Digital Library can click on the Zayed Library tab to access the 500 written and visual material about the Founding Father’s life.

The Dubai Digital Library will also be showcasing the digital solutions it offers to participating entities, from establishing digital libraries to cater to each of their needs and requirements to allowing them to upload the digital books of their choice.

Last year’s edition of GITEX Technology Week welcomed 147,133 visitors, who gathered at the exhibition to explore the futuristic innovations showcased by 4,473 exhibitors from 97 countries around the world.
