The banks in GCC are expanding their digital footprint to keep up with the digitalisation trend driven by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, according to a report released by Marmore MENA Intelligence, the research arm of Kuwait Financial Centre 'Markaz'.

The report highlights several aspects of the digital readiness of banks in GCC and how top banks are promoting their digital presence across various customer touchpoints such as websites, mobile apps, and social media.

The report referred that as banks are deploying digitalisation, the initiatives should be evaluated in terms of three key aspects, comprising feature sophistication, business impact, and integration with the customer journey.

Websites and mobile apps could help banks to expand their customer outreach, alongside social media platforms, enabling them to adopt effective digitalisation strategies and initiatives.
