Egypt’s exports of food industries valued at $2.35 billion during the first half (H1) of 2021, up by 14% from $1.78 million during the same period of 2020, Minister of Industry and Trade Nevine Gamea announced in a statement.

Total investments in the Egyptian food industries sector amount to around EGP 500 billion, accounting for 24.5% of gross domestic product (GDP), Gamea highlighted.

These comments have been made on the sidelines of the 9th edition of the Africa Food Manufacturing Exhibition, which takes place in Egypt from August 2nd to 4th.

Moreover, Gamea pointed out that the exhibition is a great opportunity for achieving the ministry’s goals in bolstering food industries and packaging.

The exhibition would also contribute to increasing the Egyptian exports volume of food industries to global markets, particularly the African countries, the minister added.
