DUBAI, 26th December, 2018 (WAM) -- The Dubai Central Laboratory, DCL, of Dubai Municipality has launched a number of new systems to issue certificates and conformity marks for products and materials, used in construction projects in the Emirate of Dubai.

The certificates are expected to increase the operational life and sustainability of the Emirates buildings and structures. The step is also aimed at achieving a qualitative leap in the services offered by DCL to this diverse segment of customers, based on the Municipality's vision of building a happy and sustainable city.

The development of the new systems is also part of achieving the strategic goal of Dubai Municipality by establishing a culture of entrepreneurship and corporate governance, and is also aimed at developing services provided to manufacturers of building materials and other bodies related to construction.

The new services included the development and introduction of certification systems for a number of building materials products, including pre-tensioned steel fasteners, high-tensile steel products and steel fiber products, as well as gypsum brick products, gypsum board products and concrete additives.

The certification system is applied as per the evaluation of factories, and the new system is one of the most comprehensive global systems in terms of procedures, through which the plant, production lines, and control of production and quality are audited, in addition to auditing the quality management system according to ISO 9001 that is followed by the companies.
