Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Dubai International Academy, an International Baccalaureate school run by Innoventures Education, hosted Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Duty Free, Colm McLoughlin, as the keynote speaker at its 10th annual graduation ceremony on May 25th at American University in Dubai (AUD).

In 2017, Colm was presented with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from CEO Middle East Awards and the Gulf Business Award for “Retail Business Leader of the Year,” for the second consecutive year. Colm was also presented with the Irish Presidential Distinguished Service Award in Business and Education in 2014 by the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins.
He addressed the DIA graduating class of 2018 comprising of 140 high-achieving students from 34 countries.

While addressing the graduating cohort, Colm commented, “I would like to offer my congratulations to all the students who are graduating from Dubai International Academy. They have worked hard through the years and are now ready to go out and make a difference in the world. I congratulate them, their parents and their teachers who have worked so diligently in ensuring their success.”

As of now, the Class of 2018 has received over 650 acceptances from universities in 17 countries. Due to the exceptional academic performance of the 2018 graduates, the class has collectively received a total of USD 5 Million in scholarship endowments to the best universities all over the world.

Among the top world-ranking universities students have received acceptances from are schools such as: Stanford, Brown, Cornell, Georgia Tech, McGill, University of British Columbia, UCL (University College London), Imperial College London and other Russell Group universities.

As a front-runner in ensuring consistency in excellent student performance, Dubai International Academy has successfully developed a programme for students geared towards developing enhanced skill sets. Students from DIA have secured admissions into Ivy League, Oxbridge and Russell Group universities consistently.
