The completion rate of Iraq's Zubair Sewage Project Phase 2 has reached 26 percent despite work stalling in the first phase, a top government official said.

Abbas Maher, Governor of Al-Zubair told Zawya Projects, that the second phase is being implemented by the governorate since mid-2020 while first phase, under the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Municipalities, stalled in 2013 at 38 percent completion rate.

Maher said the second phase is being implemented by the local Al-Nargess Company and is scheduled for completion over a period of 780 days.

He said discussions are underway to award the stalled first phase to Al-Nargess.
